Gemini Data Loggers proudly joins UPS carbon neutral shipping scheme

We have joined the UPS carbon neutral and carbon offset program to offset our emissions that result from transporting shipments.

As part of our ongoing environmental commitment, we have now joined the UPS carbon neutral shipping scheme. This will help us offset the carbon (CO2e) emissions that result from the transportation of shipments.

In this program, on behalf of Gemini Data Loggers, UPS "mitigated 2.29 metric tons of CO2e during the period October 2023 - December 2023." UPS Carbon Impact Analysis reports are issued quarterly to provide details of the scope and source of emissions offset by UPS over the reported period.

Two main projects contribute to UPS' emissions reductions annually:

  • The Darkwoods Forest Conservation project in British Columbia, Canada, delivers approximately 415,000 metric tonnes of annual emissions reductions. This private land conservation purchase protects 156,000 acres of Boreal forests from subdivision, high-impact logging, and other environmental threats.
  • The Acre Amazonian Rainforest REDD+ Portfolio in Brazil delivers approximately 540,000 metric tonnes of annual emissions reductions. This collection of three projects aims to prevent deforestation across 105,000 hectares of pristine rainforest in the Amazon basin, protecting some of the world's most biodiverse habitats.
